Engr. Dr. Ogbonna Nnaemeka Richard, fondly titled Miri Mara Ugo I of Mbutu, hails from the blessed land of Ezialaukwu Lorji, within the heart of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. A distinguished engineer, visionary leader, and devoted humanitarian, his life has been defined by service, integrity, and a commitment to uplifting others.
From his early years in Lorji, Nnaemeka demonstrated brilliance, humility, and determination, traits that guided him through a stellar academic journey in Electrical Engineering, culminating in a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Management from the University of Port Harcourt, as well as an MBA with distinction from the University of Sunderland, UK.
Professionally, Dr. Ogbonna has held leadership roles in renowned energy companies, including Schlumberger, Halliburton, and Sterling Exploration & Production, rising to the position of Base Operations Manager before relocating to the United Kingdom.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Ogbonna is passionately committed to humanitarian service and community development. He serves as a founding member of the Okwuegbulem Empowerment Foundation, actively advancing its vision to empower youths and underserved communities. Through his personal initiatives and collaborative efforts with friends, he runs an annual scholarship program, providing educational support to undergraduates and disadvantaged youths. His philanthropy extends beyond education, offering assistance to those in need and uplifting countless lives across Nigeria and beyond.
Dr. Ogbonna is a proud member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a COREN-registered engineer. He is happily married with children, balancing family life with his commitment to service and leadership.
